The KZN Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation vision encapsulate the Provincial Government understanding that the sporting sector has a duel role to play in creating a better life for all citizen of the province. Our understanding is that the vision of the Department is to create a “vibrant home of Champions” where sport, arts, culture and recreation holistically promote nation building, economic growth in the process to create sustainable livelihood through ensuring skilled, active and healthy communities. It is on this understanding that this event, namely The Masters and Legends Soccer Festival is created.

It is a fact that football is a global game that has captivated people the world over, it is loved and played by across the nations and the experience of the game through different facets. The parties herein intend to create a platform that will connect the game with the people. The 2019 International Soccer Legends Festival belongs to all, not only the former football players, administrators, associations or clubs. The organizers believe this to be a fan- oriented platform that seeks to share the global experience of this beautiful game.

The organizers also intend to use the festival in driving awareness of the South African football footprint and success not only within the continent but throughout the global village.

The aim of the festival is to engage African and international football icons to highlight and celebrate the immense contribution of our South African former players, football clubs and administrators. The festival aims to deliver an- all-football experience and give fans an opportunity to relive the fond memories the South African Legends delivered years ago on the field of play.

The organizers intend to introduce the festival as a destination event within our exhilarating local football annual calendar by driving consistent dates and relevant themes.
